Samsung Unveils Revolutionary Bluetooth S Pen for S25 Ultra: A Game-Changer in Mobile Productivity

Samsung’s S25 Ultra S Pen Saga: What’s Going On?

TL;DR: Samsung may be selling a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the Galaxy S25 Ultra as a separate purchase, but is it true?

Recently, a Samsung blog post claimed that Galaxy S25 Ultra owners could buy a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen as a standalone purchase. This comes after Samsung decided to ditch Bluetooth from the S25 Ultra’s included S Pen. However, a closer look at Samsung’s website reveals that they don’t actually list a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the new Ultra handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is a significant upgrade, but not in every way. Samsung has downgraded the S Pen, removing Bluetooth functionality from the included stylus, citing low user adoption of features like air gestures.

But why would Samsung go back on their decision? A Samsung representative confirmed that the S Pen Pro, which does have Bluetooth connectivity, would be compatible with the Ultra handset. However, our experience during a media briefing showed that the S Pen Pro didn’t work with the S25 Ultra.

What’s Really Happening with the S25 Ultra S Pen?

The latest blog post from Samsung is at odds with the company’s stance. Officially, Samsung websites don’t list a Bluetooth-enabled S Pen, only the standard S25 Ultra S Pen and the S Pen Pro. We spoke with a Samsung executive, who told us the S Pen Pro wouldn’t be compatible with the S25 Ultra. It seems like this latest post might be incorrect, and there isn’t actually a separate Bluetooth-enabled S Pen for the S25 Ultra.

If true, this could be a little embarrassing, given the official nature of the blog post. But it’s also possible that Samsung’s own websites and retail partners used placeholder information, mistakenly mentioning Bluetooth support for the S25 Ultra’s standard S Pen.

What Do You Think?

Would you buy a Bluetooth S Pen for the S25 Ultra? Vote in our poll!

61%: Yes, absolutely
16%: Maybe, it depends on the price
47%: No, it should’ve come with the phone
5%: No, I’m happy with the included S Pen
11%: I don’t have an S25 Ultra

A standalone Bluetooth S Pen would be a costly addition, given the S25 Ultra’s $1,199 price tag. It would also make the standard S Pen useless, which wouldn’t look good for a company touting eco-friendly initiatives.
