Exciting Pokémon Go Events and Debuts in January 2025
January has arrived, and Pokémon Go is kicking off the new year with a slew of exciting events, debuts, and festivities. From the dual destiny season continuing with new Pokémon and Spotlight Hours, to a Fidough Fetch event and a pair of Community Days, there’s plenty to look forward to in the world of Pokémon.
January Raid Schedule
To start the year off, Pokémon Go is refreshing its raid rotation with some familiar faces returning. January will see the likes of Palkia, Attack and Defense Forme Deoxys, and Dialga back in the raid pool. The Mega Raid schedule remains unchanged, but Shadow Raids will have Shadow Registeel appearing as a special Shadow Raid boss during weekends.
Max Battles and Wild Pokémon
Fidough is the first-ever Fairy-type Pokémon to join Pokémon Go’s universe, and a Fidough Fetch event takes place from January 3-7. The event includes a series of challenges, themed Field Research, and increased chances of encountering shiny Fidough, Voltorb, and Hisuian Voltorb.
Wild Pokémon will include Growlithe, Snubbull, and their evolutions. Players will earn increased Stardust and candies for catching these ‘mons. Some special Global Challenges will be added, unlocking new rewards for Pokémon Go’s Community.
Pokémon Go Community Day and Fidough
The first Pokémon Go Community Day of the month takes place on January 5, with a focus on the grass-type Sprigatito. For four hours, trainers will encounter Sprigatito more frequently than usual, as well as exclusive Field and Timed Research. This will give players ample opportunity to capture those elusive Shinies.
Mega Gallade Raid Day and Fashion Week: Taken Over
Mega Gallade debuts as a raid boss in the Mega Gallade Raid Day event on January 11, complete with an increased chance to find shiny Gallades. Meanwhile, the nefarious Team Go Rocket invades Fashion Week from January 15-19, ensuring plenty of chaos in the runways.
Steered Resolve
Starting on January 21-26, Steeled Resolve begins, highlighting the steel-type Pokémon. Though specifics are limited for now, keep an eye on Pokémon Go updates for more on this intriguing event.
February Events and Announcements
Next up are Lunar New Year festivities from January 29-February 2 and the second Pokémon Go Community Day of the month on January 25, but specific details remain TBA for the time being.
