Paul Mescal Cast in Beatles Biopic Series: Ridley Scott Confirms Stellar Lineup
The Beat Goes On: Paul Mescal Set to Star in Beatles Biopic
In a candid moment between two of the film industry’s most respected directors, Ridley Scott let it slip that his latest leading man, Paul Mescal, will be starring in the upcoming Beatles biopic from Sam Mendes.
A Four-Part Biopic Series
Mendes’ ambitious project promises to tell the story of the Beatles from each of the four legendary band members’ points of view. Barry Keoghan has already been announced as Ringo Starr, with sources confirming that Mescal is attached to the project as well. However, the question remains: which Beatles member will Mescal portray?
A Star in the Making
Mescal has been rumored to be attached to the biopic series since June, with speculation surrounding which Beatle he would play. While rumors initially pointed to Paul McCartney, Scott’s recent admission may have changed the course of events.
No Time for a Reunion
Scott’s upcoming film, The Dog Stars, may be delayed or even cancelled due to conflicts with the Beatles biopic. The director joked, "I have may have to let him go." It would be a shame if the two don’t get to reteam after their blockbuster success with Gladiator II, which, let’s be real, wasn’t one of Ridley Scott’s best efforts.
A Lesson from Timothée Chalamet
If Mescal is forced to undergo intense training to learn how to sing some of the best songs from the 1960s, then perhaps we can all take a deep breath and appreciate the dedication required to bring these iconic characters to life.
