Yu-Gi-Oh: Early Days Collection – Rare Card Preorder Bonus, Confirmed Games, and Exclusive Collectibles
Good news for Yu-Gi-Oh fans who’ve been craving a trip down memory lane – the upcoming compilation, Yu-Gi-Oh: Early Days Collection, is set to make that possible. What’s exciting about this collection is that it includes Game Boy games that didn’t see the light of day outside of Japan the first time around. The collection isn’t available yet, with no set release date or full game list revealed. However, physical edition preorders for Nintendo Switch are now live at Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop, and Target for $50.
While we wait for the release date to be announced, fans of the anime series can rejoice in the steelbook edition Blu-ray release of the first Yu-Gi-Oh animated movie, coming September 10. There’s also a Seto Kaiba Nendoroid figure arriving in May 2025, complete with multiple face plates, cards, a duel-disc, and a card-shaped pendant. For die-hard fans, massive manga compilations by the late series creator Kazuki Takahashi are available to dive back into the story.
Speaking of which, the physical edition of the Early Days Collection comes with one of two Quarter Century Secret Rare Harpie’s Feather Duster cards, which should make the compilation a must-have for some fans. So far, five games have been revealed for the collection: Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters (1998, Game Boy), Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 2: Dark Duel Stories (1999, Game Boy Color), Yu-Gi-Oh Dark Duel Stories (2000) (2,000, Game Boy Color), Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 4: Battle of Great Duelists (2000, Game Boy Color), and Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monsters 6: Expert 2 (2001, Game Boy Advance). Interestingly, only Dark Duel Stories released in North America; the other four games were exclusive to Japan.
Given the compilation’s focus on classic games, it’s likely to include over 10 Yu-Gi-Oh titles when it launches. We’ll be sure to update you with any new information as it becomes available.
For now, fans of the franchise have plenty of ways to keep the nostalgia alive. Retailers are offering Yu-Gi-Oh: 25th Anniversary Trading Card Boxes, featuring retro-themed sets and unique artwork. These cards are sure to delight both old and new fans alike.
In summary, Yu-Gi-Oh fans, rejoice! The upcoming Early Days Collection promises to bring back those nostalgic gaming memories, along with new surprises and throwbacks to the franchise’s early days.
