Balatro’s Friends of Jimbo Packs Go Cyberpunk and Stardew Valley with New Card Cosmetics
In August, Balatro’s free Friends of Jimbo collaboration update dropped, and it was a treat for fans of poker-themed rogue-likes. The update brought a bunch of card cosmetics inspired by popular video games, and it seemed like that was all we’d get. But surprise! Balatro developer LocalThunk is at it again with a new update that’s just dropped. This one’s called the Friends of Jimbo Pack 2, and it’s chock-full of cameos from the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 and Stardew Valley.
Remember the original Friends of Jimbo update?
If you’re new to Balatro, you might not know about the first update, which added card cosmetics inspired by The Witcher, Vampire Survivors, Dave the Diver, and Among Us. If you were eager to swap out the usual Kings, Queens, and Jacks for characters from these popular games, then this was a dream come true. Want to use a beaming Jaskier as your King, or a little red space-pal as your Queen? You’re in luck!
Friends of Jimbo Pack 2: The New Update Arrives
The new update, Friends of Jimbo Pack 2, brings even more cameos to the table. This time around, you can don the mantle of The Binding of Isaac‘s Isaac’s Mother, or Slay the Spire‘s Hunter, to name a few. And if you’re one of the many who love Cyberpunk 2077, you can now swap out your usual King for the suave Johnny Silverhand.

The Friends of Jimbo Pack 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation, Switch, Android, and iOS. And if you’re new to Balatro, now’s the perfect time to dive in. The game has received rave reviews, with Eurogamer‘s Christian Donlan calling it a "Four-star game" with a "striking and so brilliantly constructed" experience.
What’s Next for Balatro?
LocalThunk has confirmed that a major free content update is in the works, promising new ideas and strategies to keep the game fresh. This will be available in 2025, but for now, you can get your hands on the new Friends of Jimbo Pack 2 and enjoy the game’s unique take on poker.
