Unlock Windows 11’s Game-Changing Recall Feature on AMD and Intel Copilot+ PCs

Recall Now Available on Copilot+ PCs with AMD and Intel Processors

The wait is over! Microsoft has finally announced that Recall, its AI-powered search feature, is now available on Copilot+ PCs with AMD and Intel processors. This means that users with Copilot+ PCs equipped with AMD or Intel processors can now access both Recall and Click to Do features, which are still in preview, in the Dev test channel.

Until recently, Recall was only available on Copilot+ PCs with Snapdragon CPUs. The feature uses regularly taken screenshots (called snapshots) and natural language search to make it easy to find things on your PC. While some have praised the feature, others have raised concerns over its potential impact on privacy and security. To address these concerns, Microsoft has reworked the feature’s privacy and security aspects, making it a much better implementation.

Click to Do is a new feature in testing that allows you to perform quick actions with text or images in Recall’s snapshots. This could be a useful companion feature for Recall, but it’s essential to be cautious when using an early preview build like this.

Should You Try Recall?

While the reworked Recall is a significant improvement, we recommend exercising caution and not rushing to install the feature on your daily driver PC. The risk of something going wrong and needing a reinstallation is still present.

If you’re willing to take the plunge, you can install the test build of Windows 11 from the Dev channel on your Copilot+ PC. Remember to follow the necessary steps to register for the Windows Insider Program, link your account, and choose the Dev Channel. After rebooting and signing in, check for updates and install build 26120.2510 to access Recall and Click to Do features.

Getting Started with Recall

To install the test build of Windows 11 and access Recall and Click to Do features, follow these steps:

  1. Register for the Windows Insider Program and use the same account to sign in to your Copilot+ PC.
  2. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program and choose Get Started.
  3. Choose the Dev Channel and reboot.
  4. After rebooting, go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates. Build 26120.2510 should be offered.
  5. Download the update and reboot to finish the update process.

Remember, as Recall is still in early testing, it’s crucial to prioritize caution and be aware of potential issues.
