Unlock the Thrill with ‘My First Gran Turismo’: A Free Demo for the Truly Enthusiastic
Get Ready for a Nostalgic Ride with "My First Gran Turismo" Demo
If you’re familiar with the Gran Turismo franchise, you know it’s been a staple in automotive culture for decades. Now, Polyphony Digital is releasing a free demo, "My First Gran Turismo," specifically designed to court new players – and particularly younger ones.
A More Simplistic Experience
This demo version features a reduced roster of just 18 cars, compared to the 522 in the full Gran Turismo 7 game. It also comes with three fictional tracks: Kyoto Driving Park Miyabi, Deep Forest, and Trial Mountain. The demo allows players to earn three licenses, participate in three races (one on each track), try their hand at time trials with local leaderboards, and even experience the weird, often-forgotten mode, Music Rally.
Not Much Here for Existing Fans
To be honest, there’s not a lot here for those who are already fans of the series. The cars listed below are part of the demo’s lineup, with a supposed prize waiting if you collect them all:
- Audi TT Coupe 3.2 V6 ’03
- BMW M3 Sport Evolution ’89
- Citroen DS21 Pallas ’70
- Daihatsu Copen ’02
- Dodge Challenger R/T ’70
- Ferrari 308 GTB ’76
- Honda NSX Type R ’92
- Lamborghini Countach LP400 ’74
- Mazda Roadster (ND) S ’15
- Mazda RX-7 FD Spirit R ’02
- MINI Cooper S ’05
- Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V GSR ’98
- Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R ’89
- Porsche 911 930 Turbo ’81
- Suzuki Jimny XC ’18
- Toyota Corolla Levin AE86 ’83
- Volkswagen Golf VII GTI ’14
- Volvo 240 SE Estate ’93
For those who want to dive back into nostalgia, you can try to spot familiar cars like the Castrol TOM’s Supra. PS5 Pro Enhancements are also expected to be added.
A Nostalgic Treat
Even though the demo doesn’t have much to offer for those who have played previous games, it does come with the added benefit of PlayStation VR 2 support, and possibly some PS5 Pro updates to come. And who knows? You might even rediscover your love for Gran Turismo or pass on the experience to the younger generation.
For now, if you’re eager to take a trip down memory lane, you can find Gran Turismo 7 on sale for $30.
