Unlock the Power of Budget Smartphone: Redmi Note 14 4G Review
Introducing the Redmi Note 14 4G: A New Addition to the Family
Say hello to the newly announced global Redmi Note 14 4G, a budget-friendly powerhouse that comes with a sleek design and impressive features. In the box, you’ll find a grey case, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a 33W charger. Choose from four vibrant colors – Black, Purple, Blue, or Lime Green – and three memory options: 6/128 GB, 8/128 GB, or 8/256 GB. The base model is priced at €200/£180, with the middle variant costing €230/£230.
What’s New and What’s Changed
Compared to its 5G namesake, the Redmi Note 14 4G packs a more robust 5,500mAh battery, albeit with slower 33W charging. The biggest difference lies in the chipset – the 4G model features a 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra, while the 5G uses a 6nm Dimensity 7025 Ultra. The latter boasts faster Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.5GHz compared to the 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 of the Helio G99.
Key Differences
- 5G model: IP64 dustproof, 2.5GHz Cortex-A78 cores
- 4G model: IP54, 2.2GHz Cortex-A76 cores
- 5G model: 6nm Dimensity 7025 Ultra, 33W charging
- 4G model: 6nm MediaTek Helio G99 Ultra, 33W charging
Camera Capabilities
Like its predecessor, the Redmi Note 14 4G boasts a 108MP main camera. However, it shelves the 8MP ultra-wide lens in favor of a 2MP macro camera. Additionally, there’s a 2MP lens for depth sensing. The front camera has been upgraded to a 20MP unit, a notable improvement over the 16MP of old.
Design
The Redmi Note 14 4G features a simple, no-nonsense design with flat Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and flat plastic on the back. The Lime Green colorway is particularly striking, although we’re not entirely impressed with the Midnight Black. The Mist Purple and Ocean Blue, on the other hand, might be more appealing.
That’s all for now! We’ll be back with a full review of the Redmi Note 14 4G, so stay tuned for more.
