Google Messages Updates: Text Field Redesign, Your Profile, and More
Google Messages is constantly evolving, and as part of its efforts, the app is rolling out new features to enhance your messaging experience. In this article, we’ll delve into the latest updates, including the text field redesign, Your Profile, Screen Effects, and more.
Still Rolling Out (Beta)
These are Messages features that Google has announced or been spotted by beta users. While we’re still waiting for stable channel updates, you might be able to access them by joining the beta channel.
Text Field Redesign
Google is bringing back the left-aligned text box design for the Messages compose field. The revamped design features a "plus" menu, Magic Compose, Emojis, and Gallery options. Keep in mind that this update is still exclusive to the beta channel.

Your Profile
You’ll now be able to access this page from the "Your profile" item in the avatar menu. This is widely rolling out to the stable channel. As part of this update, you’ll get a "Sending as" profile notice, which allows you to set a custom name for outgoing messages.
