Unlock the Future of Foldables: Upgraded Masterpiece on the Horizon

The OnePlus Open: A Foldable Masterclass

I’m still raving about the OnePlus Open, a foldable smartphone that didn’t quite make it to the market in 2024, but left a lasting impression on me. This book-style foldable was miles ahead of its competition in terms of hardware and software, and its Open Canvas multitasking feature stole my heart. The ability to access up to three apps simultaneously, utilizing the full size of the inner 7.82-inch display, was a game-changer.

The Competition

While the OnePlus Open was an impressive device, it wasn’t without its flaws. The Honor Magic V3, for instance, was thinner and lighter, with a faster processor and equally impressive battery life. However, the software experience on the Magic V3 wasn’t as polished as what OnePlus offers with OxygenOS.

Rumors of an Upgrade

Rumors are circulating about the OnePlus Open 2, which could address many of the concerns I had with the original device. According to sources, the Open 2 will feature a more rounded design, similar to the Honor Magic V3, and will be even thinner and lighter, measuring in at less than 10mm when folded. The device is also expected to boast a larger foldable 8-inch OLED panel and a 6.4-inch AMOLED cover screen.

Specs and Features

The Open 2 is rumored to be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and a generous 1TB of storage. The device is also expected to feature a trio of 50MP cameras, along with 32MP and 20MP sensors for video calling on the cover screen and inner display respectively. Additionally, the Open 2 may offer faster 80W charging and 50W wireless charging.

Conclusion

The OnePlus Open 2 has the potential to be a foldable powerhouse, addressing many of the concerns I had with the original device. With its impressive specs and features, it’s likely to be a top contender in the foldable market. I’m excited to see how this device turns out and can’t wait to get my hands on it.
