Unlock Seamless Cross-Platform Experience: Apple’s Start Menu Integration Now Available for Windows 11 and iPhone Users

Windows 11’s Start Menu Side Panel for iPhone Users: A Fair Bet for a Swift Release
Windows 11 has been bringing Android users a range of exciting new features, and now, it seems like iPhone users are about to get in on the action too. The latest Windows 11 build, 24H2, introduced a Start menu side panel for Android users, allowing them to access key phone functionality directly from their desktop. And now, Microsoft is testing a similar feature for iPhone users.
What can iPhone users expect?
The updated Start menu side panel will provide iPhone users with a range of new features, including:
- View phone battery status and connectivity
- Access messages and calls
- Keep track of recent activities
- Send files instantly from PC to iPhone
Is this just for Windows Insiders?
For now, this feature is being rolled out to Windows Insiders in the Beta and Dev channels. It’s important to note that this feature relies on the Phone Link app and Bluetooth LE, so you’ll need a recent version of Phone Link (v1.24121.30.0 or later) to use it.
What’s the likelihood of a full release?
While not every feature introduced in preview builds makes the cut, I think this one has a good chance of being released in the near future. It would be unfair to leave iPhone users in the dark after Android users have had access to these features. With a large user base of iPhone owners, it’s likely that Microsoft will continue to develop and release this feature to the public.
