Unlock New YouTube Experiences on Android TV: ‘Who’s Watching’ Launch Screen Arrives
YouTube Continues to Evolve on Android TV with Updated Account Switcher
Android TV users, rejoice! YouTube has rolled out an updated "Who’s watching?" account switcher launch screen, making it easier for households with multiple users to access their favorite videos. This new feature may have flown under the radar for some, but we’re here to give you the lowdown.
A Familiar Layout
At first glance, you may recognize the layout. The account switcher UI is actually taken from the in-app account switcher, which you can access by tapping on your profile icon in the YouTube app. This reuse of existing UI elements is a good move, as it improves the overall user experience for those with multiple users accessing a single Android TV system or TV set.
Implications for Single Users
However, for users with a system that is only accessed by one person, this update might be a bit more annoying. Still, it’s hard to deny the benefits of an updated account switcher that makes it easier to navigate and manage multiple YouTube accounts.
