Unlock iPhone Power on Your PC: iPhone Integration in Windows Start Menu

Windows and iPhone: An Unlikely Union
In the not-so-distant past, the idea of integrating iPhone features within the Windows Start menu would have been a pipedream for fans of both platforms. However, all that is changing, and a new wave of innovation is coming to Windows 11.
Seamless iPhone Integration Arriving in Windows 11
Microsoft has confirmed it’s testing new Phone Link features that will give users instant access to their iPhone within the Windows UI. This exciting development brings the Windows and iPhone experience closer together, just like we’ve seen with Android and Windows in the past.
New Features for iPhone Users
For Windows Insiders, the following new features will be available:
- Shortcuts to messages and calls
- Recent numbers dialled
- Send Files button (also available for Android users and iPhone)
In a recent blog post, Microsoft explained: "Connected iPhone users can now access their phone features directly from the Start menu. This seamless integration allows iPhone users to enjoy the same benefits as Android users, including viewing their phone’s battery status and connectivity, accessing messages and calls, and tracking the latest activities, all conveniently integrated into the Start menu."
A Game-Changer for iPhone Users
This integration will be a game-changer for iPhone users who regularly use their device on a Windows PC. With Phone Link no longer required, users can now enjoy seamless integration with their iPhone, making it easier to manage their device from the comfort of their Windows environment.
Limited Availability
Right now, these features are only available in Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 4805 and higher in Beta Channel, as well as Windows 11 Dev Channel 26120.3000 and higher. Additionally, you’ll need Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or higher to access the new features.

"Innovations like these make life easier for those outside the Apple ecosystem. With the iPhone making up nearly 48% of the UK smartphone market, this is a positive step forward for iPhone users who do their computing on PC." – Chris Smith, Tech Expert
