Unlock Dark Waters: Confront Intimidating AI and Navigate Expertly Designed Maps in Ready or Not’s Thrilling DLC.
Ready or Not: Dark Waters DLC Review
Ready or Not, the intense and realistic tactical FPS, has just gotten a whole lot more intense with the release of the Dark Waters DLC. This new content brings with it complex new maps, a new AI that’s smarter than ever, and a whole lot of excitement.
New Maps, New Challenges
The Dark Waters DLC introduces three new maps, each with its own unique challenges and opportunities. Mirage at Sea, a luxury yacht embroiled in a hostage crisis, is a chaotic and fast-paced map that requires quick reflexes and sharp instincts. On the other hand, Leviathan, an oil rig seized by eco-terrorists, is a more methodical map that requires players to round up suspects and apprehend them in a controlled environment. And then there’s 3 Letter Triad, an abandoned hotel on a remote island full of shady criminals, which is a non-stop action fest.
Squad Behaviour: The New AI
One of the most significant additions to the Dark Waters DLC is the new squad behaviour AI. This means that suspects will now have specific roles, such as trying to lure players into traps, scurrying around behind to distract players, and working together to alert everyone to where players are. This makes each mission even more unpredictable and exciting, as players will need to adapt their strategies on the fly to stay ahead of the suspects.
Exploiting the Environment
The new maps in the Dark Waters DLC offer a wealth of opportunities to exploit the environment to your advantage. Broken windows, architectural holes in the wall, and cracks in the wall can all be used to gather intel or subdue suspects. I was able to bounce flash bangs or even grenades through holes to stun suspects, or use the mirror gun under doors or in cracks to gather intel, which I could then give feedback to the rest of my team.
Conclusion
The Dark Waters DLC is an impressive addition to the Ready or Not experience. With its complex new maps, new AI, and opportunities to exploit the environment, there’s something for everyone in this DLC. Whether you’re a fan of fast-paced action or methodical strategy, the Dark Waters DLC has got you covered. I only got to play a couple of hours, but I can’t wait to give each of these maps another go and hopefully learn a thing or two along the way.
H2: Rig Your Own Grave
The premise of fighting eco-terrorists on a rig does seem slightly out of keeping with Ready or Not’s realistic premise, but it’s a great excuse to explore new environments while also expanding on a bit of the game’s lore.
H2: Check In
While I didn’t encounter the same sort of intellectual fights in the last map, 3 Letter Triad, this map did have something just as exciting in store for me—a massive and complex layout full of armed suspects.
