Developer Techland Teases Dying Light Universe Expansion

As the Dying Light series celebrates its tenth birthday, developer Techland has revealed plans for multiple unannounced projects set in the same universe, including new video games, board games, and a webcomic. This exciting news comes after the massive success of the first game, which sold over 20 million copies as of 2022.

A Decade of Dying Light

The original Dying Light was released on January 26th, 2015, and its sequel, Dying Light 2: Stay Human, followed in 2022. Additionally, an 18-hour standalone adventure, Dying Light: The Beast, is set to arrive this summer. This summer’s release is just the beginning, as Techland has revealed plans to expand the Dying Light universe in various ways.

New Projects in the Works

According to Techland, these new projects will “go beyond video games” and include board games, a webcomic series, merchandise, and more. The goal is to bring the world of Dying Light to even more people, providing an ultimate zombie experience. This ambitious plan will include ongoing support for currently released games, new updates, and the introduction of new content.

Immediate Updates

In the short term, Techland is releasing new updates for Dying Light 1 & 2 “very soon”. These updates will include new rewards, improved visual quality, a remastered soundtrack, and more. Dying Light 2: Stay Human will also receive further prologue changes, and its roguelite Tower Raid mode will become permanent.
