Unleash the Future with Civilization 7’s Most Epic and Underrepresented Leaders

Firaxis Brings Representation to Civilization 7’s Leader Selection Process
In an exciting move, Firaxis, the developers behind the Civilization series, have emphasized the importance of representation in the selection process for Civilization 7’s leaders. In an interview with Ungeek, executive producer Dennis Shirk shared that the team aims to showcase a diverse and representative cast of leaders.
A Diverse and Representative Leader Selection Process
Shirk revealed that the process of selecting leaders involves digging deep into history to find the best representatives for different parts of the world. This approach ensures that the game reflects the global diversity of civilizations. The team involves community feedback, in-house historians, and expertise from local 2K teams to ensure a well-rounded representation of leaders.
Finding the Best Leaders
“We do that throughout the first year of development, the Leaders and the Civ choices, and everybody has their favourite,” Shirk explained. The team also taps into community feedback from previous games, taking into account the community’s wishes and preferences. Moreover, the in-house historians make recommendations for both popular and underrepresented leaders.

Civilization 7 is set to launch on 11th February, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
