Unleash the Fast Lane: Tokyo Xtreme Racer Speeds to PC on Jan 22 with 50 Cars and 110 Miles of Thrilling Highway Racing
Tokyo Xtreme Racer Returns: Here’s What You Need to Know
Get ready to hit the streets of Tokyo once again, as the beloved racing game series, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, is making a comeback. Developer Genki has announced that the first new title in 18 years will launch on January 22 in early access for PC players via Steam.
What’s Early Access?
Steam Early Access games are still in development, but they’re released to the public to test and provide feedback. This approach allows developers to refine their game based on player input, ensuring a better gaming experience. Think of it as a beta test, but with a more polished product.
What Can We Expect?
The initial release will include approximately half of the single-player campaign, over 200 rivals, around 50 cars to choose from, and over 110 miles of highway system to race on. The game will continue to evolve based on player feedback, with the full version expected to be released later.
Why PC First?
Genki chose PC as the first platform for Tokyo Xtreme Racer due to its ease of access and ability to quickly tweak and improve the game. The team believes this approach will allow them to deliver a superior gaming experience.
What’s Next?
While there’s no official word on console releases, Genki has hinted that Tokyo Xtreme Racer may come to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series platforms in the future.
What’s the Big Deal?
Tokyo Xtreme Racer’s return is exciting news for racing game fans, especially with the simultaneous release of Assetto Corsa Evo on January 16. Both games will offer unique experiences, with Tokyo Xtreme Racer focusing on street racing and Assetto Corsa Evo featuring a 600-square-mile open-world map around the Nürburgring.
