Unleash Productivity with Lenovo’s Powerful ThinkStation P3 Tower Workstation Review
Lenovo ThinkStation P3: 30-second review
In this article, I’ll be reviewing the Lenovo ThinkStation P3, a powerful workstation designed for demanding tasks. As someone who’s already covered the ThinkStation P2, I’m eager to see what the P3 brings to the table. Let’s dive in!
Design and Build
The P3 boasts a W680 chipset motherboard, paired with a Raptor Lake desktop CPU, and an Nvidia RX A2000 12GB GPU. This powerful setup is designed for users who need serious processing power. Unfortunately, the case is a bit cramped, leaving limited space for GPUs. You’ll need to prioritize your upgrades, as this design doesn’t allow for much flexiblity.
Features and Performance
The P3’s workstation-class motherboard capabilities are minimal, with no USB 4.0, and limited support for ECC memory. The included PSU is also not suitable for high-end video cards, rendering the RTX A2000 12GB GPU, our test system, subpar. With local AI models requiring more memory, the P3 falls short in the graphics department.
Should You Buy a Lenovo ThinkStation P3?
If you’re looking for a workstation for general office tasks, the P3 might be sufficient. However, for those who need serious graphics performance, there are better options available. With the lack of features and poor build quality, the P3 falls short of being a stellar workstation.
Price and Availability
The P3 Tower Workstation is available now, starting at £1006 from Lenovo. If you’re in the market for a powerful workstation, it’s essential to consider your specific needs and weigh the pros and cons before making a purchase.
