This dual-motor variant is the range-topping trim, and it’s packed with features that make it a compelling alternative to the likes of Tesla.
I had the chance to spend some time with the Seal, and I was surprised by how well it handled on Scotland’s twisty roads. The electric powertrain provides smooth acceleration, and the regenerative braking is seamless. The cabin is surprisingly comfortable, with supportive seats and a well-designed dashboard. The only thing that separates the Seal from its competitors is its unique styling, which some might find a bit too avant-garde.

But for those who prioritize charging convenience, a Tesla might still be the better choice.

The BYD Seal Excellence AWD is a wild card in the electric SUV market. Its unique styling and impressive features make it a compelling alternative to Tesla. While it may not have the same brand recognition, it’s definitely worth considering for those who want a change of pace. And who knows?
