In our recent visit to Sony’s London office, we got the opportunity to dive into the world of PS5 Pro, with high-quality captures of The Last of Us Part 2 and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart in hand. We’ve already delved into the technical aspects of these titles, comparing them to the standard PS5 model and exploring the PSSR upscaling quality against DLSS and FSR. Yet, one sentiment resonated loudly – the desire to see more of these games in action, sans comparisons.
The Last of Us Part 2: A Closer Look
To quell this curiosity, we’re excited to share an extended video edit showcasing the PS5 Pro’s visual prowess in The Last of Us Part 2. Specifically, we’re highlighting the upgrade from the standard PS5, which swaps out the simple TAA upscale for Sony’s new machine learning-based counterpart. As you’ll notice, the base resolution of 1440p remains unchanged, but PSSR delivers substantial image quality enhancements – all the more apparent with this more extensive video edit focused on the overall presentation.
