A charger with Apple’s MagSafe wireless standard might be in order. PCMag has been writing about the iPhone since its inception and MagSafe since its introduction on the iPhone 12, so we can help point you toward some worthwhile options. Best for Maximum Compatibility
Why We Picked It
This is the official MagSafe charger from Apple, so you know it will work with your iPhone without issue. It might not be as cheap as some of the third-party options out there, but it’s still the least expensive one that Apple sells.
Who It’s For
Anyone who feels uneasy about buying third-party products should pick the Apple MagSafe charger.
Best for iPhone and Apple Watch
Apple MagSafe Duo Charger
Why We Picked It
The Apple MagSafe Duo Charger gives you the handy ability to charge both your iPhone and your Apple Watch at the same time. That’s a lot more convenient than dealing with two separate chargers.
Who It’s For
This double charger is perfect if you own both an iPhone and an Apple Watch. Moreover, because Apple announced MagSafe relatively recently (alongside the iPhone 12 in 2020), it’s safe to assume that this device will work with future generations of phones and watches.

Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe Charger

Anker’s 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe charger replenishes your iPhone’s battery at 15W and supports both landscape and portrait orientation for maximum viewing versatility. Additional charging surfaces for your AirPods and Apple Watch add to the appeal and can potentially save you some space. We like the charger’s sleek looks and collapsible design, too.
Who It’s For
If you like to charge your iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch all at the same time, this Anker model can accommodate your needs. Just keep in mind that its convenience comes at a high cost.
Best for Kickstand Fans
Belkin Boost Up Charge Pro Wireless Charger
Why We Picked It
Belkin chargers offer the same reliability and benefits as Apple’s official accessories. The company’s Boost Up Charge Pro Wireless Charger has a handy kickstand that props your device up so you can watch videos comfortably.
Who It’s For
This is ideal for iPhone owners who like to use their phone while it’s charging and don’t mind paying a premium price.
Most Affordable Overall
Anker MagGo Magnetic Wireless Charger (Pad)
Why We Picked It
Anker’s MagGo Magnetic Wireless Charger Pad offers all the key features you need for about half the price of Apple’s entry. It supports charging speeds of up to 15W, is available in black or white, and conveniently ships with a five-foot USB-C-to-USB-C cable.
Who It’s For
This is the MagSafe charger to get if you want to save money and don’t care about buying Apple-branded accessories. Qi2 support could come in handy for your other devices, and you can add a 25W wall adapter for just a few extra dollars.
MagSafe or MagSafe Compatible?
In addition to helping ensure your phone is actually charging when it snaps into place, MagSafe offers the maximum wireless charging speed possible for your compatible iPhone. No, it won’t charge your phone as quickly as a fast-charging adapter, but it works twice as fast as standard Qi wireless chargers.
Keep in mind that MagSafe chargers and MagSafe-compatible chargers aren’t the same. A MagSafe charger supports a maximum output of 15W and has a built-in magnetometer and compass to prevent interference if you use your iPhone while charging. Chargers that are MagSafe-compatible rely on the Qi charging standard, max out at a charging speed of 7.5W, and don’t feature anti-interference features. Those compromises could be a deal breaker for some, but you might not care in light of their lower cost.
