Subaru Showroom Crash: Felony Charges Loom for Drunk Driver Who Wrecked His New Ride

Subaru Outback Buyer’s Fury: The Bizarre Incident that Ended in a Dealership Demolition
Imagine buying a car, only to discover it’s got more issues than a box of chocolates. For one disgruntled Subaru Outback owner, his frustration reached a breaking point. Literally.
In early December, a 35-year-old man purchased the Outback from Tim Dahle Mazda dealership. But, after reporting mechanical problems, he returned to the dealership, demanding a refund. When told the sale was final, he became enraged and vowed to drive the wagon through the showroom doors. But did he really mean it?
The Incident Unfolds
Fast forward to the evening of the same day. The same customer, still fuming, returned to the dealership, despite a dealer representative offering him a refund. Either he was too angry to listen or too angry to process it. As a result, he got behind the wheel of the Outback and put the pedal to the metal, crashing into the dealership’s showroom. Miraculously, nobody was hurt, but the damage was extensive.
A Video, a Charge, and a Fugitive
Fortunately, the entire incident was caught on video, complete with NSFW language. The man was later booked on charges of felony criminal mischief and reckless endangerment. Even more surprisingly, the authorities managed to pursue a formal indictment, thanks to the estimated $85,000 in repairs needed for the dealership.
Facing the Consequences
Fast forward to now, the property damage charges have been upgraded to a class 2 felony, carrying a 15-year prison sentence and a fine of up to $10,000. What was once a pricey car purchase has turned into a costly lesson in buyer’s remorse. Maybe next time, this customer will take a closer look under the hood before deciding to take things to the extreme.
