Stardew Valley: Complete Ginger Island Walkthrough and Farming Guide for Beginners
So, you’ve saved the town in Stardew Valley and are itching for more adventure. Good news: there’s a secret boat waiting for you at Willy’s fishing shop! This old ferry used to take folks to the nearby Ginger Island, and with a little TLC, you can get it back up and running. Sounds like a plan?
First things first, you need to repair the boat. Willy’s shop has a hidden door that’ll take you to the repair area. You’ll need 200 hardwood, 5 iridium bars, and 5 battery packs to get the ship seaworthy. Now, you might be wondering where to find these items. Hardwood can be snatched in the Secret Woods, where 12 pieces spawn daily. Iridium bars are made from iridium ore, and battery packs are crafted using lightning rods during storms. Once you’ve gathered the necessary materials, a cutscene will show Willy and Robin getting to work on the ship.
The next night, you’ll be able to hop on the ferry and sail to Ginger Island for the low price of 1,000G. As you explore the island, you’ll discover a mysterious jungle and the charming character Leo, who won’t talk to you until you befriend the parrots. To win them over, give them Golden Walnuts, which can be found hidden around the island or dropped by enemies. These walnuts unlock new areas, repair broken structures, and more.
Befriending Leo involves a trip to the Volcano Dungeon, where you’ll climb 10 floors and reach the top to unlock the forge. With your newfound skills, you can enchant weapons and tools, and then head back to Leo to become buddies and unlock even more parrots around the island. Next, focus on repairing the island farm, which unlocks even more parrots. Explore, repair, and unlock as you please – just keep an eye out for those Golden Walnuts!
