Sony’s Concord Offline: Honor’s Slimmest Foldable Hits European Shores
The IFA tech convention is wrapping up, and what a week it’s been! The biggest brands in the world have been launching their latest and greatest tech, and we’re excited to dive in and share our thoughts.
First up, Intel dropped its new Core Ultra (Series 2) chips, which promise huge gains in AI and efficiency. Asus showcased the stunning Zenbook S 14, while Acer and MSI took on the Steam Deck OLED with their own handheld gaming PCs. And if you’re in the market for a new tablet, Remarkable launched its Paper Pro with a gorgeous colour display, while GoPro unwrapped the next-gen of its Hero camera range.
But this is just the beginning of tech release season. Apple’s next event is scheduled for Monday, and we’re expecting big things, including news about the iPhone 16 range. Stay tuned for more on that next week!
In the meantime, let’s take a look at our winners and losers from this week. On the winner’s side, we have Honor’s thinnest foldable phone yet, the Magic V3. We’ve been putting it through its paces, and it’s safe to say our reviewer was impressed. The Magic V3 boasts a seriously thin design, with a folded thickness of just 9.2mm and an unfolded thickness of 4.4mm. And at £1699, it’s not the most expensive high-end book-style foldable out there.
On the loser’s side, we have Sony’s Concord, a multiplayer game that’s been taken offline just a few weeks after its release. Sales had been low, and player counts on Steam weren’t much better. In a statement, Sony said that while some aspects of the game resonated with players, others didn’t quite land as intended. It seems that the game will need a big reboot if it’s to return.
And finally, a shoutout to PS5 title Astro Bot, which launched to rave reviews across the board. If you’re a fan of platformers, this one’s definitely worth checking out.
That’s all for now. Thanks for joining us, and we’ll see you next week for more tech news and reviews!
