Sony Accidentally Reveals PS5 Pro Launch Plans, Fueling Hype
Sony’s celebrating 30 years of PlayStation, and in the process, they might have just confirmed a PS5 Pro design leak. In a blog post today, they shared a 30th anniversary image, and eagle-eyed fans have spotted a suspicious-looking PS5 design that looks identical to the PS5 Pro leak from a week ago. The image shows a console with three black stripes in the middle, which is a departure from the single stripe on the existing PS5 model.
Dealabs reported last week that they’d seen retail packaging for the PS5 Pro, which included a sketch of the console with those same three black stripes. And sure enough, they’re visible in Sony’s montage image. It’s a pretty clear giveaway that the PS5 Pro is real and that we can expect an official announcement soon.
Sony’s Instagram story even posted the image with a “Your first look” link, which suggests that they’re getting ready to make some big announcements. We’ve known for months that the PS5 Pro is real, and developers have been preparing their games for the new console. In fact, a source close to Sony’s plans tells me that all games released on or after September 16th need to support the PS5 Pro, so it’s only a matter of time before we get the official word.
