Savvy Samsung Galaxy S25 Series Revolutionizes Display Tech with Cost-Cutting Innovations

Samsung’s Cost-Cutting Measure for Upcoming Galaxy S25 Series: M13 OLED Displays

Rumors are circulating that Samsung may trim costs on the displays for their highly-anticipated Galaxy S25 series, set to launch in January with three models: the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra. To achieve this cost savings, the company is reportedly opting for M13 organic materials for their displays.

This move may come as no surprise, given that other flagship devices like the Google Pixel 9 Pro and Apple iPhone 16 Pro have already utilized M14 materials for their panels, manufactured by Samsung Display. And yet, Samsung Electronics seems to be choosing the more affordable option to boost their bottom line. Rest assured, these cost savings won’t trickle down to consumers.

But what’s the difference between M14 and M13, you ask? The latter offers 20-30% higher efficiency and a 10-20% longer lifespan compared to the former. Additionally, M13 panels tend to possess slightly higher peak brightness. This rumor, initially circulating in Korea, has also been confirmed by Ross Young, a reliable source for supply chain information related to smartphones.

One aspect to consider is that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to feature Gorilla Glass Armor, introduced by its predecessor, which significantly reduces screen reflectivity. This means that the display doesn’t need to work as hard to maintain brightness, making it more efficient.
