Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim: Trimmed Down, But Big on Performance

Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim: Is it Really Going to Live Up to its Name?

Rumors have been circulating about a potential Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, possibly making its debut at next month’s Unpacked event. While we’ve been waiting for concrete details, a recent claim from prolific Samsung leaker Ice Universe has given us a hint about the phone’s thickness.

A Slimmer Galaxy S25 Slim?

According to Ice Universe, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim’s thickness may be around 6.xmm. Although this isn’t a specific measurement, it suggests that the phone will likely cut below 7mm in thickness. If true, this would put the Galaxy S25 Slim ahead of the compact Galaxy S24 by a notable 0.7mm.

Will Samsung Squeeze Below 7mm?

With Apple’s rumored iPhone 17 Air expected to drop as low as 6mm, we’re hoping that Samsung can achieve an even slimmer design. Although 6.9mm would still be impressive, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a significantly lower thickness.

But do we even need a Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim or an iPhone 17 Air? Not everyone at TR is convinced that we do, but it’ll be interesting to see if the public agrees.

Unpacked Event and the Mysterious Fourth Phone

There’s a chance we won’t have to wait long to find out just how slim the Galaxy S25 Slim is. Yesterday, we received a tip that Samsung’s next Unpacked event is scheduled for January 22, and there could be a mysterious fourth phone on the roster. Accounting for the Galaxy S25, the Galaxy S25 Plus, and the Galaxy S25 Ultra, this could leave room for the skinny new model.

While reports suggest that the latter won’t be available until later in 2025, there’s a chance that Samsung will offer us a glimpse at the same time as the rest of the range.

Will the Galaxy S25 Slim Be the Perfect Fit?

There’s a chance that the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim will be the perfect fit for those who want a phone that’s both powerful and compact. With its rumored slim design and impressive specifications, it could be a game-changer in the smartphone market. But will it be enough to compete with the likes of Apple’s iPhone 17 Air? Only time will tell.
