Roll7’s Skate Game Delistings: OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome Vanish from Steam

Roll7’s Skateboarding Series Delisted from Steam After Private Division Sale

Roll7, the studio behind the critically acclaimed sidescrolling skateboard series OlliOlli, has closed its doors after Take-Two Interactive’s Private Division label was sold to an unknown buyer. The sale, which was announced with a lot of fanfare from Take-Two’s CEO, has resulted in two of Roll7’s games, OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome, being delisted from Steam.

The Impact on Roll7’s Games

Roll7’s earlier games, OlliOlli and OlliOlli 2: Welcome to OlliWood, remain available on Steam, as they were published by Devolver Digital. Surprisingly, Kerbal Space Program 2, developed by Intercept Games, also remains available, despite being developed for Private Division. This could be evidence that the label’s new owners intend to continue supporting the early access game, or that its publishing rights weren’t included in the sale.

The Future of Private Division Games

Private Division’s games, including Tales of the Shire, the upcoming Middle-earth life sim developed by Wētā Workshop, have also kept their listings. While Roll7’s games have been delisted, key resellers like Humble still have both games available for sale, and anyone who previously bought them can still download them from Steam. Additionally, No Rest for the Wicked, the soulslike action RPG developed by Moon Studios, is also safe, with Take-Two Interactive promising to continue support.

A Fond Farewell to Roll7’s Games

Roll7’s games were well-liked by critics and players alike, with our reviewer Natalie Clayton calling OlliOlli World "a wonderfully surreal Adventure Time-esque skatopia", and Sam Greer saying of Rollerdrome, "It might be my favourite action game since Devil Daggers." While Roll7 is no more, its games will continue to be enjoyed by fans of the series.
