Revved Up Victory: NASCAR Mechanic to Pilot His Custom-Built Cup Series Ride

Tim Brown’s NASCAR Debut: A Dream Come True

Tim Brown, a suspension and drivetrain specialist for Rick Ware Racing, is set to make his Cup Series driving debut on February 2 at the annual NASCAR Clash exhibition race. Brown, a decorated modified driver, has spent nearly 35 years around the top level of stock car racing, and this moment has been a lifelong dream come true.

A Career of Achievements

Brown has won 101 races and 146 poles in his Tour Type Modified circuit career, in addition to 12 track championships at Bowman Gray Stadium. This impressive resume has earned him a spot in the Cup Series, driving a Ford Mustang stock car he helped build.

A NASCAR Legend’s Approval

Rick Ware, team owner, is proud to give Brown his first Cup start. "As someone who understands what it’s like to try to achieve goals and move up the racing ladder, it’s just a great opportunity for Tim and it’s something we’re proud to do," Ware explained. "We’ve had the opportunity to give a lot of drivers their first Cup start, and this is one that’s very well-deserved, especially at this track."

A Homecoming of Sorts

Brown’s debut at Bowman Gray Stadium is a fitting conclusion to his career. The track, which was the first paved track NASCAR ever raced on, has a rich history with the sanctioning body. NASCAR recently acquired a lease for the facility that runs through 2050, ensuring its future is secure.

A Well-Deserved Opportunity

Brown’s experience and skillset make him a strong contender for a top finish. "At Bowman Gray, Tim really has the same opportunity as anybody else," Ware continued. "He was with Roush for decades before he was with us. He’s a very good mechanic. He’s built all his own racecars and he understands racing. I think he’s got an inside track just because he has touched every single part of these cars. He’s a racer, and particularly at this track, he’s got a lot of experience."

A New Chapter in NASCAR History

Brown’s debut marks a new chapter in NASCAR history, as the sanctioning body continues to expand its reach and opportunities for drivers. With his impressive resume and experience, Brown is poised to make a strong impression in the Cup Series.
