Revolutionize Your Ride: Rivian Updates Add Seamless Google Cast and YouTube Entertainment Experience
Rivian Electric Vehicles Now Get Google Cast and YouTube App Updates
For the First Time, Cast Your Favorite Shows to Your Vehicle’s Display
A new software update is rolling out to Rivian electric vehicles, and it’s packed with exciting features! One of the most significant additions is Google Cast, which allows you to cast content from various apps, including Disney+, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, and thousands more, to your vehicle’s display. This means you can enjoy your favorite shows, movies, and music on a bigger screen while parked.
But that’s not all – an official YouTube app is also now available on Rivian vehicles, delivering a TV-like experience to your daily drive.
How Google Cast Works
Google Cast brings more than 3,000 apps to your vehicle while you’re parked. You can stream your favorite streaming app subscriptions, flip through a Google Photos slideshow of your favorite memories, or even play a crackling fireplace from YouTube while you unwind with snacks. The possibilities are endless!
This feature is available through Rivian’s "Stream Connect+" subscription, with a free preview available to all customers.
More New Additions
This latest update includes a range of exciting features, including:
• A SiriusXM app
• Support for Climate Schedule on Gen 2 vehicles
• Improvements to Highway Assist, including "Lane Change on Command," which can accelerate your vehicle to find a gap in traffic before changing lanes
• A new Snow Mode for the center display
• A key fob for Gen 2 vehicles (available for purchase)
These updates are now available to Gen 1 and Gen 2 Rivian R1S and R1T vehicles.

The Rise of Android Automotive: How it’s Changing the Game
Rivian’s electric vehicles are powered by Android Automotive, but the experience is tailored by Rivian and doesn’t have access to the Play Store. As a result, apps are individually approved for these vehicles, and this update is bringing several new ones.
