Revolutionize Your Grid: Google Photos Introduces Customizations to Simplify Clutter-Free Storage

Customize Your Google Photos Grid Experience like a Pro!
Are you tired of the default Google Photos grid layout? Good news! Google has recently introduced more granular customization options for Android users. In this article, we’ll dive into the new features and show you how to make the most of them.
A New Era of Customization
Previously, the Photos grid only had two layout density options (Comfortable, Day, and Month). But now, you can customize it even further. A new setting page has been added, offering more flexibility and control over your photo grid.
Hide or Show Content from Other Apps
The key to this new customization is the ability to hide or show content from other photo and social media apps. You can choose to:
- Show content from other apps: See photos backed up or waiting to be backed up
- Hide clutter from other apps: Remove unwanted photos, like screenshots, GIFs, and memes, after they’re backed up
Customize by App
And, for each app, you can opt for the following:
- Show all: Display all photos from the app
- Hide clutter: Hide unwanted photos from the app, like those mentioned above
- Hide all: Complete removal of all photos from the app
Pixel Studio, Slack, Instagram, and More
Some specific apps, like Pixel Studio, Slack, and Instagram, display granular options for customization. Take advantage of these to create a personalized experience.
When and How to Find the New Customization Options
The new grid customization options are now available in version 7.14 of Google Photos for Android. Look out for the "New! Keep your Photos view free of clutter from other apps" banner above the Memories carousel after updating. Force close the app and tap the overflow menu to access the new settings.
