Revolutionary Cutting Edge: The Innovative Fusion of Design andFunction

The Unconventional Blade Collaboration

Collaborative products have become commonplace, but even in the world of EDC knives, partnerships between brands and artisans often involve a synchronized effort from start to finish. Bestech’s Excentric, however, breaks free from this convention with an unconventional approach to co-design.

Cutting it in Half

Imagine designers working together from conception to completion, splitting tasks exactly down the middle – not just metaphorically. The Bestech Excentric takes this exact approach. Instead of joining forces for the entire journey, they split the task list down the middle. Meet Toni N. Tietzel, a renowned grind specialist, and Grzegorz Grabarski of Kombou Designs. These two titans of the knife-making world paired up at IWA OutdoorClassics, where the seed for Excentric was sown.

The Unfamiliar Synergy

Despite its unique design approach, the Excentric harmoniously brings together the blade and handle.

Tietzel and Grabarski: Two Unique Personalities, One Masterpiece

While their individual designs showcased an array of striking visuals, their collaboration pushed boundaries in more ways than one. Tietzel took on the blade, meticulously crafting an unusual tanto shape and stylized compound grind, only to hand it off to Grabarski for the handle, adorned with biomechanical curves that echo the alien landscape inspired by H.R. Giger’s iconic work.
