Ghost of Yōtei: The Game PS5 Pro Needs to Show Off Its Power

In a recent Sony State of Play event, Sucker Punch revealed the long-awaited first trailer for the Ghost of Tsushima sequel, Ghost of Yōtei. And boy, does it look stunning! The game is set in a different part of Japan, a few hundred years after the events of the first game, and stars a new character, Atsu. We don’t know much more about the story, but Sucker Punch did hint that it’s exploring what it means to have a new hero wearing a Ghost mask and uncovering a new legend.

A New Hero, a New Legend

Ghost of Yōtei is set in the year 1603, in the lands surrounding Mount Yōtei in the region of Japan that today is known as Hokkaido. The game’s setting is the perfect backdrop for a new hero to emerge, and Sucker Punch is eager to show off its new protagonist.

Powering the PS5 Pro

Looking at the new 4K trailer, it’s clear that Ghost of Yōtei was designed to showcase the power of the PS5 Pro. The game’s stunning visuals and massive sightlines are a perfect fit for the console’s capabilities. It’s surprising that Sony didn’t include this game in the PS5 Pro announcement, even as a tiny teaser, to show off something totally new and amazing looking, running on the pricey console.

According to Sucker Punch, Ghost of Yōtei is the first game they’ve built from the ground up for PS5. And we can expect the game to take full advantage of the PS5 Pro’s capabilities.
