PS5 Pro Officially Confirmed? Sony’s Latest Hint Stokes Frenzy Over PS5 Upgrade Rumors
Sony’s about to turn 30, and the company’s celebrations have already started. Amidst the fanfare, eagle-eyed fans have spotted what appears to be a new PlayStation console in the 30th anniversary banner. Yes, you read that right – a console that looks suspiciously like the rumored PS5 Pro.
The original PlayStation launched in Japan back in 1994, so we’re still a few months away from the big 3-0 birthday party. But Sony isn’t waiting until December to get the party started. They recently posted some announcements and plans to kick off the celebration, and that’s when fans noticed the possible Easter egg.
The image from the blog post features a PS5 console with three lines across it, which matches a report last month about the still-unconfirmed PS5 Pro. That report claimed the console would feature three black lines across its front and that Sony was planning to officially announce the powerful new product “in the coming weeks.” Now, we have to wonder if this banner image is Sony playfully teasing its most hardcore fans with the first confirmed acknowledgment of a PS5 Pro.
It’s also possible that this is a huge mistake, but considering how many people had to review and approve these images and the fact that they’ve remained up for hours, I’m leaning towards this being a teaser. We just have to wait for Sony to officially, for real, announce the PS5 Pro, which is rumored to be launching later this year.
So, are we looking at a sly confirmation of the PS5 Pro, or is this just a big ol’ coincidence? Only time (and Sony) will tell.
