Power-Up Your Gaming Year: Total Playtime Breakdown for Switch and Steam Deck Enthusiasts

The Ultimate Guide to Your Handheld Gaming Habits: Steam Replay and the Nintendo Switch Year in Review

In times when console gaming has evolved, handheld gaming devices have become even more popular. With devices like the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck, you can play your favorite games on the go, whenever and wherever you want. But how much time have you spent on your handheld device this year? Well, now you can find out with the help of Steam Replay and the Nintendo Switch Year in Review.

Steam Replay: A Year in Review for Steam Gamers

Popular gaming platform Steam has introduced Steam Replay, a feature that provides a detailed overview of your gaming activity in 2024. This feature is available for all Steam users, offering insights into your gaming habits, including the games you played the most, the time spent playing games, and your preferred genres.

The Steam Replay dashboard is designed to look like the Steam Deck, with a superimposed image of the device. It shows the number of games and sessions you played on your Steam Deck, along with the percentage they represent of your total game time on Steam. The feature also highlights the games you played the most on the Deck. However, it’s essential to note that Steam Replay does not account for offline play time, so the data might be skewed if you play a lot outside the house.

Nintendo Switch Year in Review: A Look Back at Your Gaming Habits

Nintendo has also introduced a similar feature, the Nintendo Switch Year in Review, which offers insights into your gaming habits on the Nintendo Switch. This feature provides information on the games you played, the time you spent playing, and your preferred genres. While it’s not as extensive as Steam Replay, it’s still a great way to reflect on your gaming activities.

Xbox and PlayStation have also released their own year-end features: Xbox 2024 Year in Review and PlayStation 2024 Wrap-up. However, Xbox’s feature doesn’t break down the amount of time spent gaming on Windows handhelds, so you’ll have to estimate it for your ROG Ally or MSI Claw.
