PlayStation Network Outage Hits PS5 and PS4 Gamers: Unplugged
PlayStation Network Down: Massive Outage Leaves Gamers High and Dry
The weekend is looking less fun for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 enthusiasts. A massive outage has struck the Sony gaming network, leaving gamers without access to their favorite games and services. If you’re craving some quality gaming time, you might be out of luck – for now.
What’s Not Working
According to the official PSN Service Status page, the following services are affected:
• PlayStation (PS5 and PS4)
• Web services
• PS3, PS4, PS5, and PS Vita
As you try to launch a game, you might encounter errors like WS-116522-7, with a message saying the system software update has failed. Frustrating, to say the least!
What Gamers Can’t Do
Due to the outage, you won’t be able to:
• Sign in to your PlayStation account
• Play multiplayer games
• Access single-player games that require online connectivity (offline games seem to be unaffected)
The Verdict
Unfortunately, Sony hasn’t provided any details on what’s causing the issue or an estimated time for resolution. It’s unclear whether this outage is related to the recent bug that affected PS5 game home screen artwork. We’ll keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.

Stay patient, and hopefully, PlayStation will get back online soon. In the meantime, grab a single-player game and enjoy some offline fun!
