NordVPN has recently introduced a new protocol called NordWhisper, designed to make it easier to circumvent networks that typically block VPN connections. This innovative protocol operates differently from traditional VPN traffic patterns, which can sometimes be detected by network administrators.

How NordWhisper Works

NordWhisper is based on web tunnel technology, which disguises hidden connection behaviors as ordinary internet traffic. This mimicry makes it harder for advanced network filters to recognize VPN encryptions. The protocol uses a similar bridging technology as the Tor Project’s Tor Browser, introduced in March 2024.
