Optimize Your Swiss Army Knife: Unlocking the Secret to a More Effective Sawing Experience
So, what do you do when you’re feeling meh? Scroll through Instagram, fire up Spotify, or binge-watch Netflix? Me? I go hunting for Swiss Army Knife hacks. And that’s exactly how I stumbled upon Hugh, a jovial Brit with a beard, and his YouTube channel, English Country Life, at around midnight yesterday. I mean, who doesn’t love a good midnight YouTube adventure?
Now, you might be thinking, “Hacks? Really?” But trust me, this one’s a game-changer. It’s all about upgrading the pen included in many newer Victorinox SAKs. And honestly, it’s ridiculously easy. You can essentially hold the knife by the handles, with your index finger near the tip of the pen, and write in a much more comfortable and natural fashion. Think more like The Old Man and the Sea than Moby Dick.
But I digress. So, Victorinox did an awesome job sneaking a handy little pen into a slot similar to the ones used for its classic tweezers and toothpick. However, this thing is just a thin little rod, perfect for scratching down a name and number in a pinch, but not exactly designed for extended writing.
Luckily, Hugh from English Country Life has a solution for us. In a video titled “Secret tools in Swiss Army Knives (SAK Hacks),” he shares a tip he learned from that mischievous Swiss YouTuber, Felix Immler. You might remember him from that extra tool slot hack I wrote about last month.
This hack is a breeze, taking only about five seconds to do. All you need is a new-ish SAK with a pen and preferably a multi-purpose hook, like the Compact I used for these photos. So, what are you waiting for? Give it a try and upgrade your pen game!
