Nintendo’s Bold New Entry Slams into Store Shelves this March: An Unexpected Gaming Evolution
Nintendo’s Alarmo Alarm Clock: The Unlikely Arrival
Get ready to wake up to the soothing sounds of Mario and friends with Nintendo’s new Alarmo alarm clock, set to hit stores in March 2025. But don’t get too excited – it’s not the Switch 2 announcement we’ve all been waiting for.
What is Alarmo?
Last October, Nintendo surprised us all by announcing its £90 / $100 novelty alarm clock device, Alarmo. Initially, it was only available to Switch Online subscribers, but now it’s coming to a store near you. With no Nintendo Switch Online membership required, you can get your hands on Alarmo at participating retailers in March.
Features and Functionality
The Alarmo features a compact circular screen that plays a variety of scenes and accompanying music from your favorite Nintendo games and characters. It also comes equipped with a motion sensor that detects when you stir, allowing you to wave away your tuneful wake-up call. Plus, this feature also enables the Alarmo to serve as a basic sleep tracker, providing stats on the time you’ve spent in bed and how active you’ve been during your sleep.
Availability in the UK and Ireland
In the UK and Ireland, the Alarmo will continue to be available only on #MyNintendoStore from mid-March.
The Wait for Switch 2 Continues
While Alarmo is an exciting new product, it’s not the Switch 2 announcement many of us were hoping for. Rumors suggest the Switch 2 console is set to launch later this week, with an availability likely in April. Little is known about the console at this point, except for a series of hardware, schedule, and even logo leaks. It’s unusual for Nintendo to reveal so much information about an upcoming product, but we’re eagerly awaiting the official announcement.
