Mysterious UHC Shooter Revealed: Former Civ Studio Intern’s Dark Past Exposed

Brazen Shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson: Suspect’s Shocking Connection to Video Games
New details emerge about the suspect in the brutal killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, revealing an unexpected link to the world of video games. The accused, Luigi Mangione, 26, previously worked at renowned game studio Firaxis Games, as confirmed by the company’s spokesperson.
It appears Mangione’s LinkedIn profile highlights his experience as a UI programming intern at Firaxis Games from May 2016 to August 2017. Notably, the profile boasts that he addressed over 300 UI bugs in the game. Around the same time, Mangione’s founder-led team, ‘Upgrade’, an initiative at the University of Pennsylvania, focused on game development and research.
Unsurprisingly, Mangione’s post-Firaxis career paths seemed to distance him from the gaming community.
Following his arrest at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s on December 9, the suspect faces charges for murdering Thompson on December 4 in Manhattan. Mangione is currently detained in Pennsylvania, pending extradition to face charges in New York.
According to a law enforcement source quoted by The Associated Press, Mangione was carrying a three-page handwritten note that mentioned, “I state plainly that I wasn’t working with anyone.” The message also expressed sorrow for causing “strife or traumas” before stating that the victims were “parasites [who] had it coming.”
At a court hearing, Blair County District Attorney Peter Weeks revealed that the suspect was found with $10,000 in cash, including $2,000 in foreign currency, as well as a 3D-printed pistol and suppressor in his backpack. When questioned if he had recently been to New York, Mangione allegedly grew quiet and showed signs of shaking.
More information emerges about the brutal killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, casting a shadow over the dark world of video games as the prime suspect, 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, is revealed.
