Motorola Moto S50 Unveiled: Feature-Packed 5G Smartphone with Dimensity Chip, 120HzDisplay, and 50-Megapixel Camera
Motorola just dropped the vanilla S50, following the launch of its Neo sibling back in June. This one’s a China-exclusive, and it’s packing some serious specs. Under the hood, you’ll find the Dimensity 7300 SoC, paired with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
The S50 boasts a stunning 6.36-inch 120Hz LTPO pOLED display, with a 2,670×1,272-pixel resolution, HDR10+ support, and a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The display also features a centered punch-hole for the 32MP selfie camera and a fingerprint reader for biometric authentication.
Check out the triple camera setup on the back – it’s a combination of a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide lens with a 123-degree field of view, and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS.
Powering the S50 is a 4,310mAh battery with 68W wired and 15W wireless charging support. It’s also got an IP68 rating, so you don’t have to worry about it getting damaged in the rain.
If this all sounds familiar, it’s because the S50 is essentially the same phone as the recently announced Motorola Edge 50 Neo, but with some minor tweaks. The S50 is exclusive to China, while the Edge 50 Neo is headed to international markets.
The S50 comes in three Pantone-validated colors and has two memory configurations – 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB, priced at CNY2,199 ($310/€280/INR26,000) and CNY2,499 ($350/€320/INR29,550), respectively. You can grab it from Lenovo’s official Chinese website.
