Megatronic Shift: Instagram Unveils Major Update to Self-Description Functionality
Breaking News: Instagram Introduces Profile Cards – A Game-Changer for Your Online Presence
Are you ready to take your online presence to the next level? Instagram has just rolled out a feature that’s set to revolutionize how you share and grow your account – introducing Profile Cards! This innovative tool makes it easy to share key information about yourself and your account with anyone, anywhere, anytime.
As of 11 AM ET, Profile Cards started rolling out globally, and if you’ve already got yours, you can share it right away. You can find your Profile Card by tapping the "Edit Profile" button, followed by the "Share Profile" button, which opens a two-sided card. You can swipe to switch between the two sides – one with your avatar, username, full name, pronouns, bio, and the first link you’ve shared, and the other with your Instagram handle and a scannable QR code.
The Power of Profile Cards
Did you know that you can change the background on the backside of the card? Just like a digital business card, but with a personal touch! And, by sharing your Profile Card, you can discover new opportunities to grow your followers.
How to Share Your Profile Card
You can share your Profile Card in various ways, including copying, linking, and sending it to WhatsApp, Threads, Messenger, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook, and even Snapchat. You can also add it to your story, making it easy for others to discover and connect with you.
Why Profile Cards Matter
Lastly, Instagram likens Profile Cards to sharing a business card, but this has a more personal and social context. The goal is to stay connected and even grow business opportunities by sharing your Profile Card with brands and potential collaborators. It’s a nice summary of the essence of your Instagram profile, making it a great way to grow your followers and keep your online presence strong.
Get Ready for a New Era of Online Engagement
Profile Cards are available on both iOS and Android, but not yet on desktop. With this feature, Instagram aims to keep pace with the competitive landscape, particularly with the rise of TikTok. It’s an exciting time for Instagram, and we can’t wait to see how this feature will evolve and shape the future of online engagement.
