PlayStation Network Outage: What’s Going On?

If you’re unable to browse the PlayStation Store or play online on your PlayStation console, don’t worry – it’s not your internet connection. The PlayStation Network is currently down for many users. Our friends over at Downdetector received numerous user reports of an outage around 6:00 PM ET, and Sony’s network service status page has confirmed the issue.

What’s NOT Working?

According to Sony’s network status page, users are experiencing difficulty with:

  • Signing in or registering
  • General account management
  • Launching games and apps
  • Using the PlayStation Store

Why Does It Matter?

This outage affects web, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation 5 users. Even PC titles using the PlayStation Network are experiencing issues.

Sony’s Response

Sony took to their Twitter account to confirm the issue: "We are aware some users might be currently experiencing issues with PSN, while linking to the network service status page."
