Meet the Top Electric Vehicles with Exclusive Free Charging Perks
The Scoop on Free EV Charging and the Vehicles That Offer It
Electric vehicle (EV) charging is getting faster and more accessible, but it’s still not quite as convenient as throwing some gas in the tank and hitting the road. However, for some, the lower cost would make the wait worth it. Many EV manufacturers have started to sweeten the deal by throwing in discounted or free charging at one of the larger charging networks. We’re about to break down the EVs that come with this perk.
Audi: Free Charging Perks
Audi’s free charging offers vary depending on the model you buy. The e-tron GT, Q8 e-tron, and SQ8 e-tron come with two years of free DC charging at Electrify America stations, with no limits. The Q4 e-tron, on the other hand, gets 250 kWh of free charging, usable within the first two years of ownership, also at Electrify America.
BMW: Free Charging Perks
BMW vehicles get varied free charging depending on the model. The 2024 i4, i5, and iX get free charging at Electrify America stations for the first 30 minutes of a session, active for two years after the vehicle’s purchase. The 2025 models of these vehicles get 1000 kWh of complimentary charging, usable within two years and at Electrify America.
The BMW i7, however, offers a different deal. The 2024 i7 gets unlimited free charging for three years at Electrify America stations, while the 2025 model gets 2000 kWh of free charging, usable within three years of purchase. BMW estimates this will offer around 6,000 miles of driving based on EPA values for the i7.
