Imagine stumbling upon a surprise surprise in the world of Destiny 2. Bungie, the game’s developer, has a knack for dropping hidden missions or secrets without warning. And, guess what? They’ve done it again! The Barrow Dyad Exotic mission has suddenly appeared with a weekly reset, and we’re here to guide you through it.

So, how do you get your hands on this bizarre-looking SMG?

First things first, you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the Nether activity. If you’ve been playing through Episode Heresy, you’re already familiar with this part of the game. Essentially, you can start the Exotic quest from any landing zone in the Nether, but be prepared for a longer search to trigger the quest steps.

Step by Step: Unlocking the Barrow Dyad Exotic

To begin, look for a large Taken Blight, and jump up onto it to find a plate on the floor with a message. Take note of the direction the symbol is pointing you to, and then step off the plate in that direction. You’ll be teleported to a new location, where you’ll find a Taken Osseous Fragment. Repeat this process in other Lost Sectors, like the K1 Revelation and Veles Labyrinth.

Breaking the Curse

Now, head to the Slab in the Lost City and purchase the Scotopic Rune upgrade. This is a tier three Runic Enhancement that will initiate the Taken Path quest. Follow the quest steps to find something the Hive have hidden in Sorrow’s Harbor.

Breaking the Curse (Again)

After completing the Lost Sectors, return to the Slab to start the curse quests. You’ll need to face off against three "curse" quests: Curse of Endurance, Curse of Urgency, and Curse of Revenge. Each quest takes place in a specific location, where you’ll find a Taken Relic. Defeat enemies to extend the timer, then "dunk" the Relic to break the curse.

Get Ready for the Exotic Quest: Derealize

After breaking the curse, return to the Nether activity to start the Exotic quest, Derealize. Face off against some Tormentors and other Dread enemies, followed by a large arena where you’ll repeat some of the steps to unlock the mission. Defeat the boss to progress to the next phase, where you’ll repeat the process, seeking out Blights with symbols.

And finally, claim the Barrow Dyad Exotic SMG!

How it works: The Barrow Dyad Exotic SMG generates Blight as it deals damage, which depletes when not firing. Reloading the weapon converts stored Blight into Blighted Seekers, which track enemies and cause massive damage.
