Lego Atari 2600 Gets Huge Price Cut At Best Buy

Best Buy has an excellent limited-time deal on the Atari 2600 Lego set. The 2,532-piece buildable model is on sale for 30% off, which drops the price from $240 to $168. This set is routinely sold out at major retailers, including at Amazon and Walmart right now. Lego itself has marked the set as hard to find, so it’s certainly possible that Best Buy’s deal will sell out before the promotion officially ends.

The Atari 2600 is most affordable of the three Lego sets celebrating retro video game hardware. The Nintendo Entertainment System and Pac-Man Arcade kits very rarely budge from their $270 price points. Amazon is offering a small discount on the Lego NES, which is routinely out of stock.

The Atari 2600 is just one of 14 Lego sets available for 30% off at Best Buy at this week. Other notable deals include the Disney 100 Years Animation Icons picture frame, Luigi Starter Course, Peach Starter Course, and Minecraft’s Pumpkin Farm.

This is a great set for experienced builders. Once you’ve assembled it, you’ll have a replica console with functioning switches, a brick-built Atari joystick designed to move like the original controller, and even several cartridges to display.

It’s worth pointing out that this is an Atari console in looks only, but the other retro surprise includes a hidden gaming room straight out of the ’80s. This a small diorama and includes small details like a retro landline phone, TV, posters, and a boom box.

The buildable cartridges are also based on real games like Asteroids, Centipede, and Adventure. The cartridges can be stored in a case and built into mini 3D vignette versions of the games. Finally, the console includes a switch to toggle for color or black-and-white television sets.

Multiple exciting Lego sets based on video games are releasing in the coming weeks. On September 1, the first Legend of Zelda Lego set finally arrives. Then, on October 1, Lego will launch its latest Super Mario display kit: a pixel art model of Mario and Yoshi from Super Mario World.
