Leaked Specs Reveal Oppo Find N5 and OnePlus Open 2: Ultra-Thin Smartphones with Impressive Features
Here’s the scoop: Oppo’s next foldable, the Find N5, is reportedly on its way, courtesy of a now-deleted post from Digital Chat Station, a reliable Chinese leakster. This device will be the successor to the Find N3, which dropped last October.
You might notice that Oppo skipped the “4” label, and that’s because of a thing called tetraphobia – the fear of the number four, which is pretty common in China. The Find N5 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, and it’ll feature a 2K+ inner folding screen, a 50 MP main camera with a Sony sensor, a periscope telephoto camera, and a circular camera island.
Take a look at the specs, and you’ll see that the phone will be just over 9mm thick – that’s super close to the current record holder, Honor’s Magic V3. Whether the Find N5 can dethrone it remains to be seen, but being under 10mm thick is still a major accomplishment.
The Find N5 is also rumored to have improved water resistance (the Find N3 was only IPX4 rated) and a three-stage alert slider. It’s allegedly set to drop between January and March, and it’s likely to be a China-exclusive release, with a potential international launch as the OnePlus Open 2.
