Introducing Pixel Thermometer’s European Expansion: Accurate Body Temperature Monitoring Now Available
Here’s the rewritten content in a conversational tone:
Google’s Pixel Thermometer app has just gotten a major update, and it’s a game-changer. At the start of this year, the app added body temperature support in the US, and now it’s expanding to Europe. We’re excited to share the details with you!
As of September 8th, we’ve spotted body temperature measurements popping up on two devices in Europe – the Pixel 9 Pro XL with Android 14 (August patch) and Android 15 QPR1 Beta 1.1. This is a server-side update, so you won’t need to do anything fancy to get it working.
To access the new feature, make sure you’re running version 1.0.654975759 of the Pixel Thermometer app and have an active SIM or eSIM issued from a carrier based in one of the supported countries.
But what about the UI? Well, it’s identical to last year’s design, which means you won’t see any fancy live camera previews when taking a self-measurement. However, you will get a 7-day history of your measurements, which is super handy.
We’ve also got some new images to share with you, showcasing the redesigned Object temperature feature. Check them out below!

A recent Fitbit support article about body temperature was updated to mention countries beyond the US. The supported countries now include Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and the United States.
The supported languages are also expanding to include Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, and Swedish.
This body temperature expansion to Europe includes the Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. However, as of our checks today and other reports, this feature is not yet live. You’ll need to have an active SIM or eSIM issued from a carrier based in one of these countries to access it.
That’s it for now! We’re excited to see how this new feature will help people track their body temperature more easily.
