Innovative OnePlus Watch 3 Leak Unveils Exciting Health Features

OnePlus Watch 3: New Health Features Uncovered

The anticipated OnePlus Watch 3 is reportedly set to launch alongside the OnePlus 13 on January 7th, and we’re getting closer to knowing what to expect from the timepiece. Leaks have given us a glimpse into the exciting health features that are on board. Recent findings from Android Authority and AssembleDebug have uncovered even more details about the debut features.

The OHealth App Demystified

Recent updates to the OHealth app (version 4.30.11_e27d199_241122) have provided hints about the new features of the OnePlus Watch 3. ECG functionality, which detects Afib, frequent PVCs, high and low heart rates, and more, is a new addition. This suggests the OnePlus Watch 3 will support ECG, unlike its predecessor.

Wrist Temperature and 60-Second Checkup

The OHealth app also revealed a Wrist Temperature function, which requires a baseline temperature measurement by sleeping with the watch for at least five days, with at least one sleep session lasting four or more hours. Additionally, a 60-second Checkup feature is likely to be introduced, measuring three major health risks (heart health, blood vessel elasticity, and sleep snoring) using seven health indicators, including blood oxygen level, ECG, sleep, and vascular age.

Health Tab and Insights

The OHealth app will also gain a Health tab, hosting Health Insights and Health Journey features. Some of these features may be available on older OnePlus Watch models, like the OnePlus Watch 2, but it seems they will debut on the OnePlus Watch 3.

Specifications and Design

The OnePlus Watch 3 is expected to feature similar specs to its predecessor, with a Snapdragon W5 chip, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a battery larger than 500mAh.

Personal Take

I’m excited about the 60-second Checkup feature, which leverages sensors and monitoring to provide users with valuable insights into their health. ECG support, while expected, is a step in the right direction, as it’s a feature that has been available on smartwatches from Apple and Samsung for some time.
