Robert A. Heinlein once said, "One man’s ‘magic’ is another man’s engineering." This quote came to mind when I laid eyes on the Honor MagicBook Art 14 at the IFA 2024 show floor. This stunning laptop, with its aerospace-grade magnesium alloy and Emerald Green hue, is a true engineering marvel.
A Cut Above the Rest
At first glance, the laptop’s ultra-light and super-svelte dimensions left me thinking it was a prototype. But when the 14.6-inch, 3120 x 2080 OLED touchscreen sprang to life, I was hooked. The laptop’s 2.3-pound, 12.5 x 8.8 x 0.45-inch frame is a masterclass in design and engineering.
A Modular Camera That’s a Game-Changer
What really caught my attention was the laptop’s webcam, or lack thereof. Initially, I was confused by the lack of a camera on the top bezel, but a closer look revealed a thin green slab with a black module. This innovative design allows the camera to be easily detached and reattached, making it easy to capture everyone in the room.

A Must-Have Laptop
I’m intrigued by the laptop’s estimated 9.5 hours of battery life, as well as its six speakers and Spatial Audio technology. In short, I want to review this laptop and see what it’s capable of. And, if I’m being honest, I’m a little jealous that it’s not available in the U.S. yet.
